Grade 5 & 6 - Torrey Smith

Welcome!

Our fifth and sixth grade class will have fun diving into topics that range from earth science to human migration. We will work to dig deeper into science and social studies by overlapping their study with our other literacy and math work. We’ll do lots of reading, lots of discussing, and lots of exploration – online, in books, and getting our hands on materials that help us learn about the world around us. We’ll find multiple ways to demonstrate learning – writing more traditional reports as well as making models, movies, posters, games or other presentations that provide students with a chance to show off their understanding. We’ll often play games and solve puzzles – these offer different ways to work together, practice logical and strategic thinking, and have fun.
