I am entering my 10th year at Waitsfield Elementary School, 15th year in school administration, and 24th year of living in the Mad River Valley. A graduate of Vassar College, where I majored in Education and English Literature, I also received a masters degree in educational leadership from the University of Vermont. I began my teaching work in this state as a paraprofessional at Harwood Union High School when I moved to Vermont in 1994. I moved on to teaching 7th and 8th grade Literacy and Social Studies at Main Street Middle School in Montpelier. After 10 years as a middle school teacher, I became the administrator at Calais Elementary School. While I loved working in that community, I longed to have the work I was doing be an investment in my own community. I was thrilled when the opportunity to do just that was offered to me at Waitsfield School. My family and I currently reside in Fayston, where my own children attend school.
I am honored to work at a school where staff are committed not only to the development of the whole child, but to the success of every child in our building.
